Advanced Reading Copy (ARC)

We were told:

We do not review ARCs. We received your ARC and would be interested in considering the finished book for review when it's published and available to the reading public. Unfortunately, we don't consider galleys, uncorrected proofs, advanced reading copies, or pre-publication manuscripts for review.

We replied:

What I Learned About Life When My Husband Got Fired! is already published and available to the reading public. And the ARC you received is identical to the finished book, with the exception of the cover. (And the only difference there is the green ARC box.)

We appreciate that ARCs are typically not the final version of a book; however since we self-published the book and decided to print it in the U.S.A. although it was significantly more expensive than printing overseas, we decided we needed to reduce our expenses somewhere. And we did it by printing the finished book and the ARC at the same time – and merely printed a second cover to differentiate the two.
